Dear WBCCI Family,
Thanks so much for your love, prayers and support during Elmer’s illness.
Thanks for the memorial gift.
Norma and the Entire Koen Family.
I heard a quote from Billy Graham who celebrated his 90th birthday. It was “Every day is a gift from God”. I thought how true that statement is. We have several members who will celebrate their birthdays in December.
The following unit members have birthdays in December.
Jim Hutchens 2
Betty Hutchens 4
George Britt 6
Frank Keeser 15
Rev. Leroy Pittman 16
Curt Wheat 19
Marilyn Burrus 22
David Daniels 31
We have three anniversaries. They are
Bud and Sheila Himes on the 25th,
Dan and Delores Mayfield on the 16th and
Jim and Betty Hutchens on the 29th.
Congratulations to everyone. Hopefully, I haven’t made a mistake. If so, please let me know and I will correct it.
Doris
It was a chilly weekend when unit members gathered for the November free rally at Forbes State Park. There was a chill in the air and chili in us as we huddled inside the tarp walled shelter on Friday evening. Then came the usual good conversation as we sat around the campfire, complete with ever-shifting smoke, drinking coffee or hot cider and wondering what had happened to our warm fall.
Saturday was more of the same except the menu changed into a wonderful blend of vegetable soups. Come Sunday morning, the cold was too much so devotions were held in the Schaette motorhome. Brunch was also devoured in the warm confines of the Schaette unit, along with continuing conversation and followed with packing for home.
A special thanks to all who came; Walter and Linda Hangsleben, Karl and Erika Schaette, Marilyn and Dwight Burrus, Romaine Broughton with grandsons Seth and Jackson, Curt and Jane Wheat, and Doris and Art Meier. Dennis and Edna White were Saturday drive-ins. An extra “tip of the hat” to Walter and his leaf blower, Romaine and her soup pot, Dennis saving the fire with his chainsaw (is there anything he doesn’t have in the back of that truck?), Erika and her hot cider, and Linda for leading the devotions. In the words of Curt Wheat and in the hearts of all the attendees, “This was a great rally!” Take note, motor homes outnumbered trailers two to one!
