My term as president is coming to an end very quickly. Rose Ann and I would like to thank everyone for your outstanding support and help. We hope we made some difference and contributed to the operation of our club.

Congratulations to the Sept rally committee. The Oympic theme was great.

The October Rally promises to be just as exciting. Fresh homemade APPLEBUTTER. Mr. Clodfelter’s reputation precedes him so we are going early. Don’t forget to bring pint jars to take home yours. Betty and Jim request we dress up on Sat evening in fall/country/farm clothes (bib overalls, denims, flannel shirts, etc.) and decorate around our trailers in the theme. Check out their unique rally schedule!

The River Road Caravan will be coming in fresh from the road with exciting stories to tell. We look forward to hearing about their adventure.

The Region V Rally was a success. I believe they announced 105 units were there. Southern Illinois, again, earned the prize for the biggest percenage of attendance with 15 units present: Mr Heyde really hit a home run with the entertainment. If he had had a little influence on the weatherman it might not have been so wet but no spirits were dampened. Louise Humble and Carol White (with help from their spouses) did our unit proud with the performance of their duties on staff and Dick Thompson’s welcoming committee cheerfully performed their duties despite all obstacles! Our unit members were very active in volunteering as well as participating in programs, games, etc. and Rose Ann and I enjoyed hosting the Picnic and Pie supper. Tom Yater brought lots of Airstream trailers and motorhomes for us to check out. Nice display.

CHRISTMAS PARTY
Our Christmas party will be at the Original Springs Hotel restaurant in Okawville (exit 41 off of I64) at 2:00 on Dec 3. It will be a sit-down, family style dinner and tickets will cost $18. (Make out checks to John Schwartz). Let us know at the Oct. rally if you will be attending so we can give them an approximate count.

OPTIONAL RALLY
At the Oct business meeting we will ask how you feel about switching the June and July rallies since many members are attending the International Rally.

NOVEMBER RALLY
Also at the Oct. business meeting we will have to select a location for the Nov. rally.

2007 DIRECTORY
If you want any changes to your listing (or want to add a photo, your e-mail or cell phone number, etc) in the next Unit Directory, give the information to Jim and Betty Hutchens or the listing will remain as it is in the 2006 directory.

ELECTION RESULTS
The slate of officers presented by the Nominating Committee at the August meeting was elected unanimously at the September meeting and will be installed at the October meeting.
