President’s Corner – May

May 1, 2007 | Newsletter, President's Corner

Wow what a “New Years” rally we had. Lots of fun, fellowship, and food. The cast of “When the Stomach Churns” visited us. They did a surgical demonstration, starring Nurse Nose Bleed (Violet Schiebe), Dr. Quack (Gordon White), Patient Father Time (Al Schiebe). Why they even had a commercial for “Ride” washing powder, demonstrated by an awesome and cool volunteer from the audience (Marian Hoffman), Play written by and Music provided by (Art Meier), Props (Doris Meier), and of course that famous Master of Ceremonies (Roger Hoffman). Party hats off to the committee. Great Job! There were games, tours, lots of catching up with each after a long winter. Those of you, who could not attend, missed a really good time. Try to get to the Pinckneyville Rally I know it to will be a fun time.

Airstream RVOn page 4 of this newsletter is a proposed amendment, from IBT, please read it carefully. This will be voted on at the next rally and is an important decision which will have an effect on our unit and WBCCI as a whole. Remember each vote counts.

Welcome to Don and Cindy Harbaugh, Hecker, IL There was a lot of oohs and aahs while looking at their rig.

Well I guess my first meeting went okay as I did not hear a motion to Impeach! Again thanks for all the help and advice I have received to date; it takes all of you to make a good unit. See you next month at Pinckneyville.

Time again to get those “rigs” out

airstream.png Well it’s time again to get those “rigs” out; flush’um, wash’um, shine’um and head’um out for the “New Year’s adventures!” Hope you all have
had a good winter. At this time Betty and I are still in Florida but will be heading back the second week of April. Spring is just around the corner and we are looking forward to the “New Year” ahead.

We attended the Florida State Rally in Sarasota. The Region 5 dinner was a big success for our unit with 11 units represented; George and Grace Britt, Morris and Shirley Clodfelter, Jim and Betty Hutchens, Roy and Meryl Kerley, Elmer and Norma Koen, Art and Doris Meier, Al and Vi Scheibe, Bill and Barbara Schrader, John and Rose Ann Schwartz, Bob and Linda Zoeller, Jeff and Gail Vail.

We had good fellowship and, as always, a great meal. Art and Doris Meier and their committee for the April rally have been busy putting their plans in motion and it looks like they have a lot in store for us. Hope you are making plans to attend and hope to see you all there.

Nov. President’s Corner

October 20, 2006 | Newsletter, President's Corner

This is my first newsletter and I hope it turns out okay and that I cover all bases. If not let me know. I would like to thank you, the members, for your confidence in me as your President. As I said in my remarks on Saturday, it is the members that make the unit and inspire us to lead. John and Rose Ann have done an excellent job and have been very helpful to Betty and I during the transition period.

I would like to thank Louise and Jerry Humble for their attendance as Region 5 Officers. Louise did an outstanding job of installing each officer and making the presentations. I haven’t been to but a few, but this one was exceptional. Good job Louise, we are very proud of you. I was especially proud of each officer and their spouse and how nice they looked. Everyone looked very impressive and I am proud of being a part of this organization.

The upcoming Rally year looks to be getting off to a good start. Art and Doris Meier and their committee are excited about the NEW YEAR and are in full swing with making plans for the April Rally. We still need host for the Children/Grandchildren Rally in June at DuQuoin and the Homecoming Rally at Ramsey State Park in August. Let me know by email or phone (618)439-9387 or (618)528-3009 or (941)505-1831 if you can help.

Reminder: Don’t forget that the Winter luncheons during January, February and March will be held on the second Saturday of each month at Ryan’s, at 1:00 P.M., in Mt Vernon, Illinois.
