President’s Corner – June

May 23, 2007 | Newsletter, President's Corner

What a busy Rally we had!! Lots of doings, I had forgotten how busy School Days can be. Thanks to our Instructors; John and Rose Ann Schwartz, Walter and Linda Hanglesban, Elmer and Norma Koen they kept us busy with PE, Recess and Classes along with our Special Instructors; Trooper Sneed, Safety 101; Carol White, Quilting 101, and Tim Schwartz, Photography 101, there was so much to retain I am not sure that I passed, I guess time will tell.

Our school yard got a little rowdy with that Maypole Dance. Hope it wasn’t too disruptive to the neighborhood. Again hats off to the Committee for doing an excellent job with so little pay. But I am told that is what most teachers do; a good job with so little pay!

The business meeting went well, I think. I was more nervous this time around than I was last time; I hope this is not a sign of what’s to come. The Amendment to include the Four Winds Motorhome was voted down by our Unit with 86% against and 14% for.

With a show of hands there were approximately 15 Units planning on attending the International Rally in Perry, GA. Try to go if you can, I know it will be hot but I am told they have a great facility. Jerry and Louise Humble brought the reservation sheets for the Illinois Luncheon which will be held at The Swanson Restaurant on Thursday, June 28th in Perry, GA. Don’t forget to send those reservations in as soon as possible. Also the Region 5 International Rally Luncheon will be held at the New Perry Hotel at 12:00 Noon, June 29th in Perry, GA.

Happy Belated Mother’s Day and a Happy Father’s Day to you all.

Well I think that’s it for this time. Remember DuQuoin is a Children and Grandchildren’s Rally hope to see you there and then on to International Rally in Perry, GA.

President’s Corner – May

May 1, 2007 | Newsletter, President's Corner

Wow what a “New Years” rally we had. Lots of fun, fellowship, and food. The cast of “When the Stomach Churns” visited us. They did a surgical demonstration, starring Nurse Nose Bleed (Violet Schiebe), Dr. Quack (Gordon White), Patient Father Time (Al Schiebe). Why they even had a commercial for “Ride” washing powder, demonstrated by an awesome and cool volunteer from the audience (Marian Hoffman), Play written by and Music provided by (Art Meier), Props (Doris Meier), and of course that famous Master of Ceremonies (Roger Hoffman). Party hats off to the committee. Great Job! There were games, tours, lots of catching up with each after a long winter. Those of you, who could not attend, missed a really good time. Try to get to the Pinckneyville Rally I know it to will be a fun time.

Airstream RVOn page 4 of this newsletter is a proposed amendment, from IBT, please read it carefully. This will be voted on at the next rally and is an important decision which will have an effect on our unit and WBCCI as a whole. Remember each vote counts.

Welcome to Don and Cindy Harbaugh, Hecker, IL There was a lot of oohs and aahs while looking at their rig.

Well I guess my first meeting went okay as I did not hear a motion to Impeach! Again thanks for all the help and advice I have received to date; it takes all of you to make a good unit. See you next month at Pinckneyville.

Betty’s BuzzWonder if that clever M.C. ever gave that awesome and cool volunteer her $10.00?? I bet if the truth be known, he owes her more than any $10.00.

Did you see the new motor home with sleeping quarters under it? If not then why was that fella lying under it all day?

NEWS FLASH, two of our unit members are running neck and neck on replacing tires! Now can you guess who they are? Let’s hope no one else gets in on the race. But never fear we will keep you informed of any new developments.

Well that is all the buzz I have for this month, stay tuned though you may be next!!!!!!

See ya next month!
