Art’s Final President’s Ramblings:

November 23, 2009 | News

“And all of a sudden it was all over.” These are words shared by more than one of our past presidents as regards the term of office. We agree! It hardly seems possible that a year has gone by since the 2008 installation rally. A big thank you to all you who made the trip easier. We had a lot of good rally committees, good officers, and pretty decent cooperation from the weather at most of our activities. We are sure you will carry your support on to the new staff. Again, thank you!

A lot of you asked how long it would take to get back into the field after the recent floods. Well, Tuesday the 13th found me back in the combine shelling corn. Although the four wheel drive was for the most part engaged, the ground had “rained hard” and barely tracked. Now it is more rain and things look a bit dismal and muddy. This is going to be a long harvest season.

Meanwhile, back at the WBCCI. Don’t forget the free rally at Forbes State Park, November 6 – 8. It is always a good time. Then comes the December 13th Christmas party here in Hoyleton. We would like to get things lined up by December 5 (See Christmas Party on page 1).

And so we hook up the Airstream and rattle on away with a hearty “see ya down the road” and a big God Bless!

Art and Doris Meier, (past) President and First Lady
