We just came back from the Fern Clyffe State Park Rally.  It was GREAT…

When we arrived Friday we did not see many Airstreams somewhere, just 3 of them, and when we got closer – there they were – 3 Airstreams with 4 people:  Roger and Marian Hoffmann, Roland Keim, and Conrad Jenkins.  Marilyn (formerly Groh) and new husband Dwight Burris came Saturday morning with their B-Van. And did we have a wonderful FAMILY GATHERING!!!!!

Conrad drove us around to see some of the park and surrounding counties, and Roland showed us some places where his kids live.

Get envious: Friday Dinner was:  Swedish Meatballs with Cream Sauce and Cranberry Sauce,  steamed (and peeled!) New Potatoes, and Ice-cream.  Saturday we had a “Hot Buffet” with: Fresh Bread, Grapes, Mixed Bean Salad, Hamburgers, Hotdogs with trimmings, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, and – of course: Ice-cream with Strawberry Sauce and Whipped Cream.   To make it even more special, we had both dinners in our Airstream because of the weather  and the wind, thunder,  and rain made the accompanying music.

PS: As heard from a third party, this rally included the opportunity to see how many people it took to change the flat tire on Roland’s trailer.  The activity was apparently reminiscent of the  “shade tree mechanic” session involving Bill Lockin’s fuel filter at Waterloo in April. However, all is well that ends well.
